What?! Standing?!? And a Happy Thanksgiving

Yes! That is my daughter STANDING! What?! She is only seven months old and will not even roll over yet? But standing?! There's your Little Miss Independent right here...
Thanksgiving was great! I baked an apple pie for the first time. I am really excited about this because if you know me, you know that I am not one to bake successfully. We spent the day with Houston's family. One thing I miss about having dinner at my family's are the orange rolls that my mom makes, so I baked those too. Another success. I know, it sounds really lame, but I am so proud of myself. I missed being at home this year with my family, but we all still had a really good time...

First Tooth

My baby got her first tooth! Actually both of her bottom teeth have poked through to existence. I can't believe my little baby is growing up so fast. Next will come the crawling! I am not ready for all of this getting bigger stuff.

Here she is at three months getting ready to go swimming.

Out at dinner, I have no idea what has her so captivated... She is about 2 months here.

After her shower, we love to play with all of that hair!

With her hater blockers on. She is about three weeks here.

Her very first picture at the Hospital. She is only a few hours old. I can't believe how different she now looks.

Today at six months old.

Today Emmory is six months old. I can hardly believe it. She has changed in so many ways, and every day is a new discovery of who she is becoming. I have absolutely loved every minute of being her mother. She really is such a sweety, and always makes me smile. Here are some things that inspire my love...

1- She sings in the car when the radio is on
2- She absolutely LOVES the shower
3- When she gets excited she kicks her feet really fast
4- She has a stubbornness about her
5- She is very sweet
6- She is a joy in the mornings (NOT like her mother)
7- She loves to gives kisses
8-Her smile is to die for
9- She likes watching a football game (just like her dad)
10- She loves books
11- She loves to eat
12- She is mild tempered and will go to anyone without crying
13- She loves playing "shoot to the moon" with her daddy
14- She loves to hold the phone to her ear and listen to whoever is there
15- When she gets annoyed, she has this squeal that is like nails on a chalk board, and she lets you know that she is bugged.
Emmory has really been the best thing in my world. I am looking so forward to more time and pictures, and adventures and smiles...

Halloween 2008

We took Emmory Trick or Treating last night. If you can't tell by the pictures, she was a Lady Bug. We moved recently, so it was nice to venture out and meet the neighbors. We couldn't have asked for better weather, and Em seemed to enjoy being out too. I am excited for many more years of costumes, and carved pumpkins....

Autumn is Officially Underway

The weather is nice and crisp, the leaves are beautiful, the scent of apple pie and cinnamon fill the house, and comfort food is in abundance. Fall is officially here. I don't know if I would say that autumn is my favorite season, but I would definitely say that I absolutely fall in love with the changing of the seasons. With every new season underway it is as if there is a sense of renewal that comes along with it. One season over and another one to make memories with.

This is hilarious!

Thanks Rae for having this on your blog, I watched it three times in a row and laughed out loud. She is so cute!

Grandma and Auntie Monie visit

My mom and sister Monica with her two children, Kyle and Miles, came into Denver this last week to visit. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to see them. We went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. I have not been to the zoo in years. This particular zoo, you are able to feed the giraffe's. I don't know who had more fun the kids or the adults. Here are a few pictures...

Yes, I have had her eyes checked. The doctor said that she will grow out of the crossing. Plus how can you not love that smile...
The giraffe's are behind us (obviously).
Miles with his Cheeto stogie. He is learning young...
My mom with the grandkids. Silly Kyle, making faces and I have no idea what Emmory is doing...probably mimicking Kyle.

My mom and Emmory. My mom doesn't get to see Emmory very often, but Emmory is so easy going and will go to just about anyone. It was nice that Emmory got to know her grandma just a little better. It is hard when you don't live close and you worry about the bonding but she loved her grandma.

Some Random Pictures

She has just started sucking on these two fingers for some reason....

She loves dinner time! Yummy...

Being a big girl!

Her first time swimming. She loves to splash the water. Don't you love the double chin?

And this is her favorite puppy. She loves it.

10 favorite things about being a mom

1- Watching her grow right before my eyes. Every day she has changed in some way.

2- Watching her learn new and simple things like rolling over.

3- Knowing that I can calm and comfort when she is hurting. (She is teething)

4- Knowing that for these short moments in her life, she is perfect in God's eyes.

5- Knowing that I was chosen to teach this child about life, and what it's purpose is. Being a parent gives life such a deeper meaning and purpose.

6- Singing silly songs to her and watching her laugh.

7- Bath time. She loves to splash and play.

8- Holding her. It is a great time for me to sit quietly and just be. There is no where to be and nothing to stress about when I am looking into her eyes.

9- Her tiny hands holding my finger. Her trusting me. It is a great feeling...

10- And the BEST thing about being a mommy....Her smile. I can't help but smile back when I see it.
